Advocacy and representation is a crucial strategy for the EFEFA Women Farmers Network (EWOFANET) to drive meaningful change for women smallholder farmers. By amplifying the voices of women in the agricultural value chains and ensuring they are represented in key decision-making processes through cooperatives, eWofanet will contribute to enabling environment where women’s needs and contributions are recognized and addressed. This will include advocating for implementation of the already developed gender policies that ensure equitable access to resources, finance and markets, access to technology, finance, and land ownership. Mobilizing and empowering women small holder farmers through cooperatives will be part of the advocacy strategy for both within their communities and in broader governance structures. eWofanet will work with other key players and facilitate training programs that empower women with the skills and knowledge to engage effectively in agricultural value chains, cooperatives, and policy advocacy. This will boosts their confidence and leadership potential, enabling them to better advocate for their rights and needs.
